Miracle at Donna PDF Print E-mail

“Miracle at Donna” the documentary is the true story of eighteen (18) young men who won the High School Football State Championship in 1961. No other football team from the Valley has yet to repeat this feat.  Coach Earl Scott and Benny La Prade were the two dedicated men who believed in and treated all the players like equals.  Ten (10) Hispanics and eight (8) Anglos young men came together and formed the greatest team the Valley has ever known. The majority of the players were poverty stricken, many did not have a father or mother in their family and some were migrant workers or worked in the fields.  Additionally, one of the players drowned before the season started and three other players lost a parent during the season.  However, despite these tragic deaths and the hardships, the players together as a team triumphed. This incredible journey inspired and united the small town of Donna along with the Rio Grande Valley.

On April 18th, 2011 we commenced filming recreation/reenactment footage together with extensive interviews with the original players for this very special documentary, with a feature film planned for the future.

We are seeking sponsor and contributions and or donations to complete and premier (show) this documentary on February 2nd, 2012 at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.

This is an independent film production fully funded by private contributions. These contributions are coming from people like you who believe in the story and more importantly its message.

Any sponsorship/contribution will be given advertising and special thanks in the film and credits and our website at www.miracleatdonnafilm.com.  In addition, the sponsor will be advertised in the Step and Repeat Wall placed in the State farm Arena together with advertising in the Electronic Band around State Farm Arena and during the showing of the documentary at 8:00 p.m., Feb 2nd, 2012.  You will also be given an advertising invoice and  complimentary tickets for the meet and greet of the Celebrities and the 8:00 Premier showing of the Documentary.

Please assist us with a sponsorship and/or a contribution and make this film a reality and a big success for the valley.  I am available for any question and can be contacted at (310)248-0031.

I thank you in advance for your support,

Very best regards,

Frank Aragon
